If you want to enjoy living with dogs keep your dogs rules:

Feed dogs scheduled mealtimes (no free-feeding), after humans eat

Dogs goe after humans through doorways

Never play tug-of-war with dominant dogs

If you establish eye contact, dog must avert gaze first

Dogs are never allowed to bite or mouth anyone

Dogs sleep on the ground, not in the bed

Petting or attention to dogs should be given when HUMAN decide to provide it.
   Absolutely NO PETTING when dogs nudge or paw you

Games with toys, especially fetch, are initiated and ended by the human

Dogs are never allowed on furniture, especially if uninvited

The command “sit” should be obeyed before any pleasurable interaction (eat, pet, play,
    going out etc.)

Dogs should never be left unsupervised with children or anyone who cannot maintain
    leadership over a dog

Dogs must move if in your path, on a floor or stairway    etc., even if you are able to step over him

Dogs must not be allowed to sniff or eliminate anywhere    he wants. One mark against one tree is enough!

Everything belongs to you: dog toys, dog crate, the dogs    food bowl, the dogs bed… they are only on loan to the    dog! You should be able to clean, move, handle
   or remove any item at any time without hassle from the dog
